When Some Practical Magic isn’t enough . . .
When Endora Bast is asked for help by the same witch Tribunal that reduced her magic to almost nothing, she wonders why she should bother. Years ago, they punished her harshly, all because she’d fallen in love. Now, they desperately need her to save the entire witch community.
Endora is in for a shock when she’s told she must stop her old nemesis, Obsidian Ashmedai, before he regains his full magical powers. If she does, she’ll regain all of her magic and have her record expunged. If she doesn’t, Ashmedai will become the most powerful being in the world.
Only one other witch can help Endora defeat Ashmedai.
Marcus Morion, her former lover, was also punished by the Tribunal. As a penalty, Endora and Marcus were forced to remain apart, indefinitely. But now, without benefit of full magical powers, they are the witches’ only hope of survival. Failure might cost them their lives. But if they succeed, the happiness they’ve always yearned for will be theirs for the taking . . .

4.5 Stars is a more accurate rating. That Old Black Magic is an action packed sequel to the book ‘Pactical Magic’, but I don’t think that it’s better than the latter I think just as good is more accurate but definitely not better. The focus in this one is Endora and her story which includes a sexy witch named Marcus. I loved the addition of Mav and Glenna. Glenna was a delight. There’s action, suspense, intrigue, romance, humor and several NON-explicit love scenes. However, for some reason I still liked Practical Magic slightly better. In any event, this book is well worth a read and sure to delight readers who enjoy the aforementioned elements. SO Buy it, Read it ; ENJOY!I am deeply saddened that no other books by this author are available on Amazon. I would have loved to have read more from such an obviously talented author. This book was released in 2011 but she hasn’t released anything since. How unfortunate!
This follow up book to SOME PRACTICAL MAGIC was even better than the first! Endora Bast is a witch who can shapeshift into a cat. Marcus Morion is her witch lover from 40 years ago as well as her cosmic twin. Both lost the majority of their powers when they were separated 40 years ago after Obsidian Ashmedai slaughtered his entire cult and accused Endora and Marcus of being part of the plot. However, several members of the Tribunal that sentenced all three of them secretly supported Obsidian and have reinstated his powers. Now, Endora and Marcus have to defeat Obsidian before his birthday or he will be unstoppable. They enlist the help of a dyslexic vampire, Eripmav Alucard (Dracula Vampire spelled backwards) and a pit bull named Glenna. The repartee between Glenna and Endora is hilarious and kept me laughing. This was a well written, entertaining, and quirky read. I certainly hope that we will be reading more with these characters (the vampire’s story, perhaps?).
